Every morning our home smells like freshly brewed coffee. This is a scent that brings me back to my childhood and is something that I have continued into my adult life. A pot of coffee would brew and I would add just enough milk or cream to cool my coffee to my ideal temperature, that is until now.
I recently had the opportunity to learn about and try Berserker Brew Coffee. Berserker Brew is locally owned and started here in Louisville, Kentucky, by Bland Matthews a little over a year ago. They have taken a blend of organically grown, fair trade coffee beans, with more than one type of roast in each bag, packaged it in omnidegradable bags, and engineered the coffee for the athlete in everyone. What does the "engineered for the athlete in everyone" mean? Well, the proprietary blend of the bean creates a full-bodied coffee, a smooth taste, low-acidity and little aftertaste which means you will not be adding your cream and sugar (or added calories) to your morning cup of joe.
This past week, I have been drinking the First Attack blend by Berserker Brew and this blend is perfect for your everyday morning coffee. My first impression of this medium roast coffee was how soft and smooth tasting the coffee is, I tasted a natural "sweetness" from my first sip and did not add any additional sugars or flavorings. By the end of the week, I am no longer adding milk or cream to my coffee and why is this important? I am no longer adding additional calories and I do not need to mask the wonderful coffee flavor. In addition to the great taste, the morning coffee smell, for me, is a great morning pick-me-up.
