Halloween Event Guide Around Central Louisville

Finding all the FUN Events for Your Ghouls and Goblins

The Halloween season can be very overwhelming and if your family is like my family you want to get as many uses as possible from that Halloween costume.  This year it is even more overwhelming with COVID guidelines. Where do you begin to look?  Here is a quick guide of Halloween events around Central Louisville.

Access to most of the events are FREE, however, some have admission fees and tickets or supplies associated with them.   All of these events and more will be posted on the Macaroni Kid, Louisville Central calendar of events! Month long events: 

  • 9/26 - 10/24 - Legend at Pope Lick  - Socially distanced movies nights with halloween characters, the Pope Lick GOAT man and more- ticketed event - Jeffersontown / 40299
  • 10/1 - 11/1 - Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular – ticketed ($35 per car load) and drive thru event - Open Dusk to 11 PM -  over 5,000 carved jack-o-lanterns on display at Iroquois Park / 40214
  • 10/1-11/1 -Pirates of PRPFor all the pirate lovers and Halloween fanatics. You can view the yards for FREE -  Seaforth Drive. Louisville, KY 40258
  • 10/2 - 10/31-    Grim Trail – Friday & Saturdays starting from dusk to 12:30 pm.  Great for kids 10 and older- ticketed event -  Jeffersontown / 40299
  • 9/22-10/28 - Happy Halloween Weekends - Holiday World, Santa Claus, IN - ticketed event. 
  • 10/4 - 10/28 -   "Worlds Largest Halloween Party" - Louisville Zoo - special event hours of 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm during the weekends starting on October 4th - October 28th .  SOLD OUT
  • 10/4 - 10/25 - HomeRun Halloween - Louisville Slugger Museum - 10 am - 3 pm - TIcketed event.  Kids are 1/2 price for the month of October.   


October Events and Activities:


Don't forget to follow the CDC's Halloween Guidlines when considering any of the Halloween events.

AVOID:

  • Door-to-door trick or treating
  • "Trunk or Treating" from trunks of parked cars
  • Attending crowded indoor costume parties
  • Going to an indoor haunted house
  • Going on hayrides or tractor rides with those you do not know. 

INSTEAD

  • Carve / decorate pumpkins with members of your household, do so outside, at a safe distance with neighbors or friends.
  • Have a virtual Halloween Costume parade / contest.
  • Do a scavenger hunt giving the children a list of Halloween -themed things to look for while they walk from house to house admiring the decorations at a distance.
